Flashlights are becoming increasingly powerful with every new release, but there isn’t much attention given to a key compromise that comes with high power output: battery life. Streamlight’s new ProTac series of tactical handheld lights are here to change that with the 2,000-lumen ProTac 2.0 flashlight and ProTac 2.0 headlamp.
Both the ProTac 2.0 flashlight and headlamp provide ultra-bright light without sacrificing runtimes, thanks to a proprietary Streamlight SL-B50 rechargeable li-ion battery pack and its 4,900mAh capacity. The new SL-B50 battery pack can be charged outside or inside the light, accessed by the light’s sliding sleeve, via a USB-C charge cable. The battery is keyed to ensure proper alignment of the charging port and features LED status lights to indicate charging status. An integrated safety circuit ensures the battery isn’t accidentally overcharged or discharged.
The ProTac 2.0 series offers plenty of power to go with its long battery duration. Both the flashlight and headlamp feature a gasket-sealed, anti-reflective glass lens and a 50,000-hour shock-resistant LED with three default modes. For the ProTac 2.0 flashlight, High delivers 2,000 lumens, Medium offers 570 lumens, and Low provides 100 lumens. Run times range from 2.5 hours on High to 25 hours on Low. The headlamp features similarly impressive power and run times for the same three modes: High at 2,000 lumens, Medium at 650, and Low at 110 lumens, with run times ranging from 2 hours and 15 minutes for the highest setting to as long as 25 hours on the lowest setting. Both lights use Streamlight’s TEN-TAP programmable switch system, which allows you to tailor their operating modes to your needs.
The ProTac 2.0 is crafted from 6000 series machined aircraft aluminum with a Type II MIL-Spec anodized finish. It also features an anti-roll head and a gasket-sealed lens, giving it an impact resistance of up to two meters. IP67-rated resistance for the flashlight and IP64 for the headlamp ensure their reliable operation through dust and water. The flashlight comes with a removable, multi-position pocket clip, holster, and USB-C charge cord, while the headlamp comes packaged with a USB-C cable and rubber and elastic head straps.
Whether you’re a first responder, technician, or outdoor enthusiast, the ProTac 2.0’s convenient charging system, powerful output, and long battery life, together with Streamlight’s limited lifetime warranty, make ideal lights for everyday use. Grab yours at the link below.
