A solid drop point blade in a versatile steel, ergonomic handles, a reliable lock, and a low-profile clip: these are the elements that make up an ideal EDC blade. But it’s one thing to have great features on paper—it’s completely another to have them all on the same knife and have it look as good as it performs. With plenty of experience building stylish, minimalist knives for EDC, The James Brand released one of their most advanced knives yet in The Carter. It ticked all the boxes for an ideal everyday knife, operated from either hand, and came with the flair and elegant finishing touches you’ve come to expect from The James Brand’s modern knives. Thanks to a special collaboration with Huckberry, it’s back in a fresh and exclusive new colorway to add to your collection and to suit the sights of your next outdoor adventure.
With its fully ambidextrous design, The Carter accommodates users of any orientation, starting with its hi-vis orange thumb disc in deployment that gives you one-handed purchase from either side. This puts the knife’s 2.75“ VG-10 blade into play, in the classic drop point shape that gives it a sweeping belly for versatile cuts. Locking the blade into place is The James Brand’s use of a new ambidextrous slide lock, which when disengaged, allows the blade to fold back into the 3.8” contoured G-10 handle in an exclusive OD green. From deployment to release to handle shape, The Carter’s design reinforces its versatility for any user.
You have a few options for carrying the knife. First is its (of course) reversible deep-carry pocket clip for a tip-up, subtle carry in your pockets. You can also remove the clip and replace it with an included lanyard insert, allowing additional EDC or decorative options or integrating with The James Brand’s other carry accessories. No matter how you carry, The Carter’s minimalist profile and 3.8 oz weight affords you plenty of choices.
The James Brand’s The Carter knife takes their unique design language and combines it with solid features to produce a versatile knife for the modern EDCer. Check out the exclusive Huckberry collaboration colorway at the link below.
